Julie Andrews named National Library Week Honorary Chair
For libraries, promoting National Library Week is as easy as do-re-mi. The magic words of Julie Andrews.
The Academy Award-winning actress has been named Honorary Chair of National Library Week 2008. Andrews stars in a series of public service announcements (PSAs), like this one.
Each spot benefits from Andrews' proven appeal to children, as well as to adults who grew up watching her in such family classics as “Mary Poppins” and “The Sound of Music.”
National Library Week, April 13-19, is a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers in schools, campuses and communities nationwide - and the perfect time to discover how you can join the circle of knowledge @ your library.
IFLS, a state-funded agency that covers 53 public and 4 county libraries in ten west central Wisconsin counties, insures all residents have access to their public library. IFLS works with library staff and local library boards, providing administrative, IT, MORE, interloan, youth services, and public relations support, as well as a connection to state-supported services and programs.
