Trustee of the Year Award Nomination Form

One Trustee of the Year Award is given to each county within IFLS. Local and county library trustees who have served during 2008-09, and have rendered outstanding or special service to libraries are eligible. If a county selects more than one award-winning trustee, the System Celebration Committee will select a winner from the nominees.

The award shall be based upon such activities or accomplishments as the following:

• Constructive accomplishments toward the advancement of library service and the development of sound library policies.
• Creative and effective work in interpreting the library to the community, and in bringing its problems before the eyes of decision-making leaders in the community.
• Working toward the cooperative goals of IFLS.
• Involvement and effectiveness in library-related matters beyond the local community.
• Application of wisdom and sound judgment that have resulted in increased library service or efficiency. 
• Persistent devotion to the ideals of good library trusteeship.
