Due to a pending retirement the IFLS Library System is seeking a self-starter, service-oriented and collaborative individual to join our dedicated and friendly team as our new Business Manager. IFLS staff and our partner libraries collaborate to provide outstanding, engaged, and inclusive services that contribute to informed, connected and literate communities. The ideal candidate will reflect our mission to inspire and facilitate library success by providing member libraries with the tools to serve, empower and lead their communities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and administering fiscal policies and procedures
  • Executing accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Preparing, monitoring, analyzing, and updating the IFLS and MORE budgets in consultation with the Director and MORE Administrator
  • Preparing financial reports for IFLS Board and Staff and MORE Directors
  • Preparing financial reports for annual reports, grants, and other reports
  • Scheduling and preparing supporting materials for annual audit
  • Maintaining confidential personal records
  • Preparing and submitting necessary reports to the various public employee departments and agencies
  • Monitoring compliance with applicable Federal and State laws and IFLS Personnel Policy
  • Providing and implementing payroll functions and administration of employee benefits
  • Maintaining contacts with employee benefit vendors
  • Consulting with member libraries on the use of QuickBooks and Excel and other financial and human resource topics

Qualifications

An Associate Degree (Bachelor’s degree, preferred) in accounting, business or related fields and a minimum of three years’ experience as a business office manager or as a staff accountant or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrated proficiency at the intermediate level with QuickBooks and Excel is required. Experience with governmental agencies and/or non-profit organizations is desired.

Hours and wages

Schedule will include 35 hours (full-time) per week with flexible work hours to meet the needs of our libraries. Starting wage range from $27-$29 depending on qualifications. An excellent benefit package is available. IFLS offers a flexible and supportive work environment.
