Ashley Bieber

The Wisconsin Library Association’s We-Lead Initiative chose their latest group of participants well.  We know this because half of the new protégés are librarians from IFLS libraries.  Not only are we home-region proud, we also know that these women are smart, dedicated, capable, and well-equipped to help lead our profession in new directions.

Both of them will have a chance to work one-on-one with a mentor who has been active with WLA, and will receive a stipend to attend the Annual Conference (and various other leadership training opportunities) for the next two years.  Sweet deal!  Congratulations to two deserving people!  Are you jealous?  Apply yourself next time around!

Ashley Bieber is the Youth Services Manager at the Rice Lake Public Library.  She is paired with Roxane Bartelt, the recently retired Head of Youth Services at the Kenosha Public Library.  She’s going to be involved with a new member committee for the Youth Services Section of WLA–so if you haven’t yet joined the group, Ashley will be sure to help you get acclimated!

Kim Korbel is the Director at the G.E. Bleskacek Family Library in Bloomer.  Her mentor is Matt Rosendahl, who many of us remember from his days as director at Luck and Milltown, now the Director of Learning Resources at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Colleges.  Kim will be getting involved with the Outreach Services Round Table.
