• MORE online payments (ecommerce) not working There's a problem with our online payment system that cropped up late Sunday night (2-12). Payments have been declined: accounts are debited, then the charge is refunded (which may take awhile). The online payment button has been hidden as of Friday afternoon (2-17). I'll post an update when this is fixed. -Lori 02/14/2017 - 9:02am
  • Circulation Notices Slow to Send Circulation notices continue to be slow to send from Sierra. I have reported the problem to our vendor. Notices do eventually go through. Avoid stopping and restarting--that results in multiple notices sent to patrons. -Lori 01/03/2017 - 10:09am

Recommended IFLS Policies for ILL--Library as Borrower

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is defined as items borrowed from another library and circulated locally. The following policies may not apply to items borrowed through your shared system.

Too New for ILL?
IFLS will not refer requests for materials published/released in the last four months outside of the Indianhead system.

Renewals
Requests for renewals of ILL materials are discouraged, but completely at the discretion of the lender. Many libraries will renew if you request via WISCAT or call directly. IFLS can renew materials from MORE libraries.

Overdue Fines
Charge the same fines that you would charge for in-house materials. Suggested standard is $1.00 per day for DVDs; $.10 per day for other materials; $5.00 maximum per item.

Lost Materials
The Borrowing Library is always responsible for the cost of borrowed ILL materials. Actual cost for lost materials is billed by the lending library. Contact the lending library.

Filing
If keeping paper files, consider filing pending interlibrary loan requests by title. If materials are received with no paperwork, the requests will be easier to find.

Recommended IFLS Policies for ILL -- Library as Lender

  • 28 Days - Videos/DVDs (exception TV series)
