I came across a YALSA blog post with some simple, easy-to-replicate tips for making your Summer Library Program more inclusive and accessible for kids and teens with disabilities (sorry that blog post is no longer available). If our goal is to help reduce the summer slide, kids and teens with disabilities are very important to include, since data shows that graduation rates for students with disabilities are significantly lower than those without. ┬áIt is good to know that you don’t have to re-vamp your whole program to make it easier for everyone to participate, there are a few small tweaks that can make it easier to participate!
