Barcode Placement

At the March 19, 2010 meeting of the MORE Directors Council, the following policy was approved:  “MOTION (Vernau/Kaczmarski) to standardize the location of the barcode to the upper left section of the front cover of the item, parallel to the top; PASSED by voice.”

This decision takes effect on April 16, 2010.  From that date forward, barcodes should be placed as described in above.  In the examples below, the barcode is placed where it is most easily scanned, particularly by self-check machines.  Placing the barcode anywhere in the upper-left quadrant is acceptable.
