Elmwood is looking for a well-organized individual to direct the operations of its library. Elmwood is a village of 800, located 18 miles south west of Menomonie and 40 miles west of Eau Claire.
The Director is responsible for the overall management of the library and operates under a seven-member library board. Duties include building and maintaining the collection, managing the library finances, and developing programs which promote the library and encourage its use.
The position is at least 20 hours a week, up to 28 hours per week. Starting wage is $16-$18 per hour depending on education and experience. Benefits include retirement through the WRS, paid holidays, and PTO. $500 a year stipend towards credits for a Wisconsin Grade III certification.
Candidates must qualify for a Wisconsin Grade III certification OR have the necessary credentials to obtain a temporary Wisconsin Grade III certification. A minimum of two years library experience is preferred but not required. The ideal individual demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills; is familiar with technology; and is able to work cooperatively with the public, the library board and village employees.
