Delivery Study Next Week: Oct. 24 to 28

Don’t forget that the delivery study will be starting on Monday, Oct. 24^th. Look for an email from Katelyn this Friday containing the instructions and the chart to fill out. Anti-racism tools

A reminder to all Wisconsin libraries and library staff that EXCELLENT tools designed and curated to support you on your anti-racism journey still exist on the WisLibIDEA website. Check out the “Additional Resources” section for a curated list of thought-provoking resources, and visit the “Independent Study” tab to find conversation prompts that will help you lead your community through a deeper dive into topics concerning race and equity. Are you ready to vote? The election is Nov. 8 and MyVote.wi.gov is your one-stop shop for all election information. See below for a few extra links for specific questions and attached for information specific to WVLS member library counties.

The deadline to register by mail or online is Wednesday, October 19. Voters may register in person in their municipal clerk’s office until 5 PM on November 4, or at the polls on November 8. CLICK HERE for more details about registration, as well as absentee ballots. (Scroll down past primary election information.)

The Wisconsin DMV is reminding voters that there’s still time to get a voter ID before the Nov. 8 election.
To obtain a state ID for voting, you’ll need proof of identity and residence documentation. But if that information isn’t readily available, you can still get an ID from the DMV through the Voter ID Petition Process.
According to the Wisconsin Elections Commission, through this process, voters can apply for a Wisconsin ID card and be mailed a temporary receipt for their ID that can be used for voting purposes while the DMV verifies the voter’s missing information.
A refresher: Photo ID is required for voting in Wisconsin. This rule has been in effect since April 2015. See the full list of acceptable voter IDs here.

Do you work at an IFLS library? Do this survey.

There is an overwhelming amount of tools and resources about data! Southwest Wisconsin Library System and WiLS (funded through the Library Services Technology Act monies allocated by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction) are working on a staff-focused “data landscape” project. The results will be disseminated across the state in late spring 2023.

We need your input to make sure the report is based on real information. The first step is a survey about how you use data. ALL public library and public library system staff are encouraged to complete it so that our system is well represented.

The survey can be accessed by clicking here, and should take about 10-15 minutes. Your responses are confidential and will only be reported in aggregated format.

Trivia anyone?

The Ellsworth Public Library would like to invite IFLS libraries and their patrons to join us for a virtual trivia night November 10 from 7-8 pm on Zoom. To celebrate International Games Month we’ll be playing a game of trivia with questions about board, video, and card games along with some puzzle questions. We play using Kahoot! and meet up on Zoom. Librarians can put together a team or play solo and the same for your patrons. It is great fun for adults or for adults and their teens. Families are also welcome to play together.
