Marketing Grants Awarded

Congratulations to Amery and Baldwin, who won the competitive Library Marketing Mini-grant! Even if you aren’t one of the grant recipients you can still register for the upcoming Library Marketing Plan Workshop with Kathy Dempsey and Angela Hursch (Nov 12, 2021 09:00 AM – 1:30 PM, This online workshop is worth 3 contact hours for public library certification.)

Pepin’s Open House

On October 16, 2021 the Pepin Public Library celebrated 25 years in the current building with an open house and the unveiling of two antique maps.  People have already begun to look at the maps and find the lot where their house is in the village or who owned their property in 1877 in the townships. The maps will now be on permanent display inside the library for all to enjoy. Catch the whole story with pictures next week in The News from IFLS.

IFLS Reaches Out

Leah Langby has been out and about bringing her awesomeness to a couple exciting projects lately. Here’s an WLTC blog post about Brodhead. She also coached the Kenosha team and they also did awesome stuff, (here’s more). Kenosha librarian, Zander Miller, did a webinar yesterday. The recording will be up soon.

Welcome to the new director at Altoona, Arin Wilken, set to start on November 15.

If I Had a Hammer

I’d build a library… Here are updates from some library construction projects:

About that 1986 Farm-Aid poster last week

Heather Johnson from River Falls called it! “That poster at the bottom is horrible…as a farm’her’ I am totally insulted and amused at the same time. I would like to know the thought processes that went into the marketing campaign to the “country” people. Sheesh 😆”

Have a great weekend, everybody! Happy Hallowe’en.

Submissions for Weekly Digest should be sent to Reb by Wednesday at the end of the day.
