Keeping Up With Kids

I always look forward to the Wisconsin Library Association Conference, coming up this year at the Kalahari Resort from November 4-7.  I highly recommend it as a chance to have time away from your library, but still be thinking hard about library things!  It is a great place to connect with colleagues, get inspired, get information, and maybe even go down a water slide or two.

This year, I’m especially pleased that a librarian from IFLS will be presenting on a panel called UnStorytime:  Programming for Preschoolers.  Tiffany Meyer will be part of that panel, talking about her awesome Artsy Smartsy program.  And you know what else is cool??  She got a scholarship from the WLA Foundation to attend!  They are paying her registration fee and expenses.  Guess how she got that scholarship?  She applied!

Now that you know someone in your midst that has applied for and received a scholarship like that, I hope it inspires you to try.  You don’t need to do a presentation to get a scholarship, but who knows, maybe you’ll be presenting next year, too!
