If you are looking for ways to spice up your storytime, or if you have a new staff person or volunteer you want to train in the Wonderful Ways of Storytime, there are a lot of great resources out there. But there is always room for more, right??
The Colorado State Library teamed up with several public libraries in their state to form Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy, and with the help of a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, they created some fabulous videos of librarians sharing rhymes and songs that support early literacy! Check it out at http://www.storyblocks.org/. You’ll probably find some old favorites there, but you will certainly also find some really fun new songs and rhymes to add to your storytime. I like that each video has a note from the librarian explaining how they feel it adds to early literacy skills, and giving tips on how to use it.
