Ellsworth Keeps Away Winter Blahs

Keeping Up With Kids

The folks at Ellsworth sure know how to scare away the winter blahs! An American Girl Beach Party, based on the book Aloha Kanani, kept the attendees warm. Participants learned to dance the hula, including learning what the hand motions in the dance mean. They wore grass skirts, made leis, and generally forgot about the cold blustery weather outside.

Also this month, according to children’s librarian Julie Belz, kids had a great time making and racing Lego vehicles at the library.

All this makes me think maybe that elusive trip south isn’t necessary to arrest my slide into winter doldrums–I could just go to Ellsworth!
