It’s still a pandemic. It’s ALSO Friday. And sunny. I hope you will find these few reminders about great resources a good Friday diversion. Hopefully you have also heard the calming voice of Tessa Michaelson Schmidt on this week’s FAQ Friday (remember you can ask a question or share a thought, too).
Reminder: If you are not following the YSS Blog, please take a look at it! This blog of the Youth Services Section of the Wisconsin Library Association continues to knock it out of the park! Tons of relevant ideas, resources, and information.
In case you missed it, last week South Central Library System had a webinar (with 500 live attendees!) about teen/tween services with the funny, practical, and thoughtful Katherine Schoofs. Lots of information (including a recording) is here.
I found Dr. Dipesh Navsaria’s webinar about safely re-opening to be practical, helpful, and reassuring (with no easy answers, but a lot of great information). Many of you have experienced a presentation with Dr. Navsaria so you know he is a wonderful presenter and a thoughtful and knowledgable doctor AND librarian. A recording is available here.
This really fun video about an outdoor obstacle course on the sidewalk in front of an Illinois library caught my eye. It looks fun, safe, and easy to reproduce at some level at many libraries!
