Tip Jar

ILL might be delayed

Please note – During the timeframe of December 23 through January 4, interlibrary loan processing may take longer than normal due to IFLS ILL staffing availability. WISCAT requests may still be placed as normal during this timeframe, just let your patrons know that requests might take a bit longer to process and arrive. ILL workflows should be back to normal by January 5.

Please feel free to reach out to me or Katie Shay (IFLS ILL Consultant) with any questions or concerns. Happy Holidays! 😊

New program tracker

Melissa Aro at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has created a new program tracker to help libraries keep track of 2024 program statistics, which will help tremendously when it comes time to fill out your annual report in 2025!  Your future self will thank you if you take a few minutes to learn how to use this tracker (it is only slightly different from the current one, it is now easier to use!).  The 2024 Program and Activity Tracker Tool and training materials are on the Annual Report page below the LibPAS instructions. Please let Leah know if you have questions or need assistance with this.

While we’re talking about the annual report

It might be holiday season, but a Universal Truth is that holiday season is followed closely by Annual Report Season!  Join your colleagues and IFLS staff for a short overview of the report, along with work time to allow you to finish the report with IFLS staff support and with fewer interruptions.   Bring your own device (laptop, tablet) and your financial and program records.  More details to those who register. This workshop does not supply continuing education contact hours.

Annual Report Workshops:

  • January 30, 9:30-3:00 at the Somerset Public Library
  • February 1, 9:30-3:00 at the IFLS Office (Eau Claire)

Register by January 27:  https://forms.office.com/r/QGxtFgWZES

Let Leah know if you have questions!

Library Legislative Day registration open

Join the Wisconsin Library Association in Madison for a day of advocating for Wisconsin libraries!  This year’s event will kick off with a briefing at the Best Western Premier Park Hotel (22 S Carroll St, Madison, WI 53703), followed by visits with legislators at the Wisconsin State Capitol.

Once you register for this event, Library Legislative Day committee members will make appointments with legislators and develop the day’s schedule for you.  The schedule will be shared with attendees a few days in advance of the event.

Watch the WLA Library Legislative Day webpage for additional information as plans are finalized.

Need hotel accommodations?  A courtesy block of rooms has been reserved at the Best Western Premier Park Hotel in downtown Madison through January 15, 2024.   Learn more.
