I got a good reminder from the Young Adult Library Services Association (of ALA) the other day. I know some teens who would love to be encouraged to participate in this!

As your Summer Reading Program kicks off, be sure to include YALSA’s Teens’ Top Ten. You can download the 26 nominated titles (PDF) from the YALSA website, as well as the Teens’ Top Ten toolkit (Word doc), which includes programming ideas, customizable bookmarks, and other tools to help you promote the Teens’ Top Ten to teens at your library.

Be sure to mark your calendars for voting this year. Voting opens Aug. 23 and ends Sept. 17. Last year, more than 11,000 teens voted for their favorite books.
